Enhancing Infrared Photodetection with a Circular Metal Grating

Abstract

We use finite-difference time-domain simulations to demonstrate enhanced infrared absorption in a photodetector topped with a metal film having a hole and a circular grating. The enhancement far exceeds comparable linear gratings.
