Optically Tunable Hollow Gaussian Beams

Abstract

We report formation of optically tunable, doughnut-like beam created by phase distortion when Gaussian beam reflected off metal films. High stability and tunable spatial distribution make this technique promising for optical applications like Bose-Einstein condensates.
