Compact Laser Scanning Distance Sensor with a Two-axis Gimbaled Microscanner for Volumetric Imaging

Abstract

We report on a laser scanning volumetric image sensor having a small optical head with a gimbaled micromirror. By time-of-flight ranging, our device can measure up to 15cm with ~200μm resolution over a 4°×6° range.
