Polarization-Insensitive All-Optical Wavelength Multicasting by Self-Phase-Modulation in a Photonic-Crystal Fiber

Abstract

Polarization-insensitive all-optical wavelength multicasting is demonstrated by spectral filtering from a self-phase-modulated 10-Gb/s return-to-zero signal in a 100-m-long photonic-crystal-fiber. Simultaneous conversion of 6 different wavelengths is achieved without any external light source and polarization control.
