Accurate Sampling of Gaussian Laser Beam Profile in Monte Carlo Simulation

Abstract

We find an accurate probability density function for Monte Carlo sampling of a Gaussian laser beam, which can be used to accurately model light transport in tissue. It is shown that our proposed method is accurate by comparing to the exact solution made by the convolution.
