Abstract

We demonstrate the femtosecond Faraday effect in Cdo.88Mno.12Te single crystals and its implementation in room-temperature magneto-optical sampling. Our technique is highly sensitive and capable of measuring sub-picosecond magnetic transients generated by a free-standing LT-GaAs photoswitch.
