Broadband Access Using Wireless Over Fibre Systems

Abstract

Optical fibre provides a future-proof method for distributing broadband wireless signals in such formats as IEEE 802.11 and 802.16. This paper reviews technologies for this application ranging from currently deployed narrowband cellular systems to future millimetre-wave systems.
