Fabrication and characterization of symmetric Mach-Zehnder structure based on 2D photonic crystal waveguide for all-optical switches

Abstract

Symmetric Mach-Zehnder structures based on photonic crystal slab waveguides were successfully fabricated. Several key points in designing this structure are discussed. Measured transmission spectrum gives great feasibility for realizing an ultra-small all-optical switch.
