Abstract

Multi-kilowatt, ~1ps pulses at 1550nm are obtained from a fully fiber integrated chirped pulse amplification system using a conventional single-mode EDFA, and an air-core photonic bandgap fiber as the compressor. ~40x pulse compression is obtained.
