High-Power Er:YAG Laser for Coherent Laser Radar

Abstract

We report the development of a high-power Er:YAG laser with high pulse energy for coherent laser radar wind sensing. The 1.645 mm Er:YAG laser produced a Q-switched pulse energy of 16 mJ with diffraction-limited beam quality.
