Above-bandgap Franz-Keldysh effect: A new method for ultrafast electric field measurements in semiconductors

Abstract

We present a new technique for electric field measurements in semiconductors with femtosecond time resolution. The method relies on the integration over electric field induced Franz Keldysh oscillations with broadband laser pulses above the bandgap.
