Intracavity adaptive optics optimisation of a grazing-incidence Nd:GdVO4 laser

Abstract

An intracavity deformable membrane mirror has been used to control the transverse mode profile of a diode-pumped, grazing-incidence Nd:GdVO4 laser. Automatic mode and power optimisation are demonstrated using a closed-loop genetic algorithm.
