Optical serrodyne frequency shifting using polymer modulators

Abstract

Serrodyne frequency shifting of continuous optical signals and optical pulses by up to 86 GHz is demonstrated in an electrooptic polymer phase modulator. Current work focuses on increasing the frequency shift using time-compressed sawtooth waveforms.
