Pulsed quantum cascade lasers for intra-pulse spectroscopy of pollutants such as tobacco bye-products

Abstract

The use of an intra-pulse spectrometer to detect atmospheric pollutants at wavelengths of 8 and 10 μm is discussed. We will outline the potential of the system with reference to tobacco smoke and upper atmosphere indicators such as methane.
