High cw power density with narrow diode lasers

Abstract

An axisymmetric method for spatial, wavelength and polarization multiplexing of narrow diode lasers is proposed. An effectively circular focal spot with cw power density of several hundred kW/mm2 is possible using non-imaging catadioptric optics.
