Abstract
Stimulated Brillouin scattering has been studied in 500m of low loss (3dB/km) pho-tonic crystal fiber. The results reveal a higher threshold power than in conventional single mode fibers, which further increases with decreasing wavelength. Efficient SBS-induced lasing and other unusual features are observed
