Rotationally Symmetric Crossed Gratings as Gain Flattening Filters

Abstract

We present rotationally symmetric crossed fiber gratings as devices for gain equalization. The fiber grating parameters are optimized to equalise the gain profile of an erbium doped fiber amplifier to within 0.04 dB.
