280-nm amplified spontaneous emission generated by Cr:YAG crystal fiber

Abstract

280-nm amplified spontaneous emission (ASE) at the optical fiber communication band by Cr:YAG crystal fiber is generated and studied. The simulated result shows that more than 20 dBm ASE power could be generated with a 2-W pump and 5-μm core.
