Abstract

Spectroscopic properties of Ho3+: 1.6 µm emission in fiber materials such as fluoride, sulfide, and selenide glasses have been investigated. To achieve a new U band fiber amplifier, optimum pumping band as well as codoping scheme is discussed under a special interest in fluoride glasses.
