Measurement of Fiber Chromatic Dispersion at 1550 nm Using an Electro-Absorption Modulator and an Autocorrelator

Abstract

A simple, direct technique is demonstrated for determination of fiber chromatic dispersion around 1550 nm, which is based on autocorrelator measurements of the relative delay between two pulses generated by a single electro-absorption modulator.
