Abstract

In this talk we review functions for optical packet and burst switching networks and the all-optical signal processing technologies that can be used to implement these functions. Research utilizing ultra-fast all-optical nonlinear fiber wavelength converters and InP integrated optical wavelength converters will be discussed as well as application to all-optical label swapping and WDM/OTDM networks.
