Excite-probe thermal lens spectroscopy of wide-gap materials in the transparency region

Abstract

The absorption spectra of several wide-gap materials in their transparency region are obtained with an excite-probe Z-scan. We find α ∼ 105cm1 for ZnS at 800–900 nm, making this an excellent lens material for use in semiconductor laser cooling experiments.
