Abstract
The visibility of the interference pattern of a Mach-Zehnder-interferometer is investigated in dependence of the spatial coherence. It is demonstrated how the dimensions of the fringe pattern can be shortened significantly due to the low coherence properties. Applications of spatial high resolved velocity measurements in fluid flows are given.
