Sub-microsecond temperature measurement in liquid water using Laser-Induced Thermal Acoustics

Abstract

Using laser-induced thermal acoustics, we demonstrate noninvasive and remote temperature measurements over the range 283-333 Kelvin in liquid water. Typical temperature accuracy is 0.5% for a single 400-nsec measurement.
