Abstract
Effective dark current suppression in metal-semiconductor-metal photodetectors (MSM-PD) using asymmetric metal electrodes is demonstrated. Improved signal-to-noise ratios normalized to input optical power (NSNR) as high as ~800mW−1 is achieved for Ge MSMs.
