XFROG Measurement of continuum from an 8-mm-long microstructure fiber

Abstract

We generate and measure using cross-correlation frequency-resolved optical gating (XFROG) the continuum from a short (8-mm) microstructure fiber. Our measurements show that such a short fiber yields a broad continuum with a pulse length as short as the input pulse.
