Assessment of the optical phase jitter in dispersion-managed systems

Abstract

We propose an approach to derive the optical phase jitter for arbitrary pulses in dispersion-managed links based on the moment method. This approach is applied to a dispersion-compensated quasilinear system and a dispersion-managed soliton system.
