Abstract

A novel and robust concept for dispersion-compensating dielectric mirrors is presented. Brewster-angle orientation of the multilayer structure avoids impedance matching problems and reduces dispersion ripple to unprecedented low levels. This method holds the potential for pulse compression into the single-cycle regime.
