Novel multipolar and multifunctional structures in molecular engineering for photonics

Abstract

Novel developments of multipolar molecular engineering for photonics are reported. Special attention is paid to paracyclophane derivatives and rare earth acentric complexes, where the contribution of f-electrons to the quadratic hyperpolarizability is demonstrated for the first time.
