Modeling of fiber lasers with Rayleigh/SBS ring mirror

Abstract

Passive Q-switching in fiber lasers can be caused by cascaded Rayleigh scattering -stimulated Brillouin scattering process in a fiber. We propose a theoretical model and compare the results of numerical simulations with the recently reported experimental data.
