Nonlinear Bloch-wave spectroscopy of optically-induced gratings

Abstract

We study Bragg scattering of light in optically-induced gratings and show, theoretically and experimentally, that the diffracted beam profile is defined by the structure of the Bloch-wave spectrum. Simultaneous generation of discrete and gap solitons is observed at high powers.
