Intracavity Bragg diffraction of gaussian beams

Abstract

Due to their limited transverse extension, which precludes efficient interferences, gaussian beams are shown to be less attractive than plane waves concerning their diffraction efficiency on intracavity Bragg gratings. Our calculations fit the experimental results.
