Abstract

An 8.6 MHz extended cavity femtosecond Cr:LiSAF laser is pumped by inexpensive single spatial mode diodes to generate 0.75 nJ pulses with 36 fs duration. This laser has the potential to be significantly lower cost than conventional lasers.
