Abstract
High-harmonic generation is a convenient method for generating coherent light in the extreme-ultraviolet (EUV) region of the spectrum, using a small-scale ultrafast laser-based apparatus. The high average flux (>1012 photons/sec @ 45 eV),1 high repetition-rate (up to 5 kHz),2 and short (< 10 fs) pulse duration3 of this source are attractive for a number of experimental applications such as soft x-ray holography, x-ray nonlinear optics, XUV metrology, and photoelectron spectroscopy.4
