Abstract

Recently, many new profiles and structures of fiber gratings are proposed and demonstrated for high bandwidth utilization of optical filters.1,2 Here, we propose a new fiber grating structure whose period is sinusoidally chirped. The fiber grating provides abrupt-edges and flat-top passband channel with high side lobe suppression (>30 dB). We show uniform multiple wavelength operation by sampling this proposed fiber grating.
