Abstract

Erbium doped fiber amplifiers (EDFA’s) are ubiquitous in optical data transmission in both terrestrial and free space communication applications. In many field applications, such as transoceanic links and space laser communications, the effect of radiation on EDFA’s has to be taken into account.1−2
