Abstract

All-optical pulse regeneration is required to extend the operational distance for high bit rate optically time division multiplexed (OTDM) networks. All-optical pulse regeneration, and the similar problem of all-optical switching, have already been demonstrated in the nonlinear optical loop mirror (NOLM).1
