Abstract

Many can recognize a lot of successful reports on the investigation of the phase-matched generation of high-order harmonics in macroscopic media by intense femtosecond laser pulses.1 The phase matching in a macroscopic medium dramatically enhanced conversion efficiency up to 10−5 in the extremely ultraviolet (XUV) region at the wavelength shorter than 30 nm. The phase matched conversion lead not only to a higher conversion efficiency but also to a greater spatial quality of XUV beam.1
