Abstract

Difference frequency generation (DFG) is an attractive method for wavelength conversion in wavelength division multiplexed (WDM) optical networks.1 DFG-based devices have been demonstrated successfully in quasiphasematched (QPM) AlGaAs- and LiNbO33,4 waveguides.
