Abstract

A number of tetrahedrally coordinated Co2 +-doped materials such as Y3Al5O12, Y3Sc2Ga3O12, ZnSe, and glass ceramic are known as saturable absorbers for passive Q-switching of 1.5 μm Er3+ :glass lasers.
