Abstract

Stimulated Raman scattering of light has been studied in great detail both for the case of quasi-stationary interaction and for laser pulses comparable and shorter than the vibrational relaxation time of a Raman medium1 but still much longer than the corresponding molecular vibrational period Tv = 2πΩv−1.
