Abstract

We demonstrate high-efficiency and high-resolution fiber-optic probes for applications to near-field scanning optical microscopy (NSOM) with a tip diameter as small as 30 nm and efficiency enhancement of better than four orders-of-magnitude at ~60 nm over typical taffy-pulled fiber tips.
