Abstract

Cascaded second-order processes were studied in both space and time domains, and shown to give rise to beam focusing, 1 self-diffraction, 2 and pulse compression.^ Studies in frequency domain were mostly related to the pulse enhanced chirping4,5 and generation of new spectral components6 in sum frequency generators.
