Abstract
Traditionally, Er: Glass has been considered to be a low efficiency laser media. Coupled with a low cross section, poor thermal characteristics, and three-level lasing nature, EnGlass has been disregarded for possible materials processing applications for over three decades because of low efficiency, low output energy, and low average power.
