Abstract
In this paper we study stimulated Raman scattering (SRS) excited by focusing 200-fs duration, 0.6-mJ energy, and 1-kHz repetition rate Ti:sapphire laser pulses at 780 nm and their second-harmonic pulses at 390 nm in a pressurized gas cell. We present results on the spectral and temporal properties of the different Raman components as well as on the wavelength-conversion efficiency in dependence of the polarization of the pump in different gases such as H2, D2, HD, and CH4.
