Abstract

The discovery of BBO and LBO about ten years ago has revolutionized nonlinear optics. These crystals are characterized by a large nonlinear coefficient, a broad transparency range and a very high damage threshold, Nevertheless the difficulty at growing large size crystals has limited their use.
