Abstract
For the purpose of optical-limiting applications, we have studied, during the past few years, solid-state materials exhibiting a reverse saturation absorption (RSA) behavior.1,2 Our work mainly uses xerogels doped with phthalocyanines and HITCI molecules. These materials are prepared by a sol-gel process using controlled hydrolysis. The matrix composition is varied by choosing different precursors such as methyltriethoxysilane (MTEOS) or vinyltriethoxysilane (VTEOS).
