Asymmetric solitons in mismatched dual-core optical fibers

Abstract

Solitons in a dual-core fiber have been considered in a number of works.1 Usually, the two cores are assumed to be identical. However, fibers with dissimilar cores are of interest too.2 In this work, we consider the simplest model of a fiber with mismatched cores in which the only effective difference between the cores is in the phase velocities:
