Abstract
Multiplexed volume holograms have been long considered as the next generation digital data storage system due to their parallel fashion of data transfer and attractive storage density (V/λ3). However, in order to achieve high definition holographic images, e.g., >106 bits (Mbits) per page, specially designed lenses with large field-of-view (>20 mm) and high resolution (>500 lp/mm) are required. Such lenses are cumbersome, expensive, and require precise alignment, making the conventional holographic architecture appear unattractive for practical applications.
