Abstract
Etched-facet lasers have been the subject of many research efforts since the early 80's. It is the only technique that allows for the fabrication of facets that are independent of crystal orientation, such devices include ring lasers,1 beam-steering fan lasers2 and high-power unstable resonator laser diodes.3 This technique expands the designability and integrability of in-plane lasers.
